Chet and I would like to "ditto" Ron in thanking those who joined us for the Monday Memorial Day ride.  What a fantastic day it turned out to be.  Some totally unexpected wonderful times and memories made.

I'll attach some pictures.  Larry Peters was taking many more - I'm sure he'll send us his web site to share when he gets them all on.  Thanks Larry -

Started out in Bellingham - including Bag Pipes, prayers, gun Salutes, etc.  Then a ride through the Ferndale Cemetery - what an honor to be a part of all, with hundreds of flags!!!  Then to Lynden, where we had some "quiet time" at their memorial.  Off to Blaine in time for the 11:00 service, where we got our group picture taken by the American Legion Photographer.  They were so pleased we made it time.  While in Blaine, we were found by friends from "down south", who joined our ride, Bob and Tess Thurgood.

The display at the Peace Arch was canceled.  Larry was hoping to get some photos of the "Peace Memorial" there.  Then, we detoured to a private display on Sweet Road, (Chet had arranged for us to stop).  Oh my goodness - what joy to share in the family's display of their memorial to her Father and Grandfather.  They brought us out cookies and hope we'll come back next year.

Then, thanks to Paul and Barbara Ingram - we had a most interesting service at 1:00 - at first we weren't sure what we'd gotten into.  It was a dedication for a NEW Memorial, with a Lummi Medicine Man and a Chief there to Sanctify the grounds.  They had a "real stuffed" Eagle with feathers as well as the flag flying.  AND while the drum and chanting was being offered, there was an Eagle flying over our heads most of the time.   Welll - I have no words, just tears in my eyes.

I'm sure those who where with us will agree - it was an unforgettable day.
