MEETING NOTES
The meeting was called to order by Garry. We welcomed Rodney T. , Joe and Sharon Gilmer and Bill and Judy Thomas to our meeting.
Garry mentioned that he had been getting emails about the Saturday breakfast / rides and the suggestion that we entertain the possibility of returning to the Rusty Wagon for the breakfast. The Fairway Cafe and Babes in Ferndale were also mentioned. Garry said he would be checking them out for future reference.
Ron Robertson of the Bear Tooth Clan presented the coveted Bear Tooth Pass certificate of achievement award to Ken and Judy Valsonis, Pam Kamm and Ray Hunter.
Ron also reminded us of his email about support boxes for servicemen and women serving overseas. It was decided that a $100 dollars would be donated from the club treasury to this good cause.
It was also decided that we would do the November Food Basket again this year. We need to find some needy or deserving person or family, so suggestions will be appreciated. Start bringing canned goods to the next meeting.
A gift of appreciation from the Chapter was presented to Betty Robertson .
Congratulations to Rick and Jean Seater on their 30th anniversary and Birthday (Rick's?). Rick would give no tips or suggestions for a long and happy marriage....darn.
Garry reminded us of the Leadership Training seminars in Moses Lake, October 5 - 7. All members are urged to attend.
This is Chapter H's 25th anniversary! If you have some ideas for a celebration, Please get with Garry.
Dates to consider: August 19 - Chilliwack, B.C. - Fred & Jane Petterson BBQ - note! This has been changed from the 18th to the 19th! Kathy will be checking on this and will let us know by email if there are any further changes. We will be meeting at 12:30 in Sumas at the abandoned Shell station.
August 24 - Friday night's dinner ride will be led by Ron and will end up at their home for dinner. If you were not at this meeting, please let Ron know by email if you will be attending. We will be meeting as usual in Lynden for the ride.
August 25 - John & Cheryl Crawford’s "End of summer Potluck" - 3:30pm - See email for what to bring. August 31 - Reid’s BBQ at Birch Bay State Park in stead of Friday Night Dinner Mystery Ride. September 14, 15, 16 - KOA Chapter H Campout - Concrete, WA

MISC.
A tour bus driver is driving with a bus load of seniors down a highway
when he is tapped on his shoulder by a little old lady. She offers
him a handful of peanuts, which he gratefully munches up.
After about 15 minutes, she taps him on his shoulder again and she hands him another handful of peanuts. She repeats this gesture about five more times. When she is about to hand him another batch again he asks the little old lady, " Why don't you eat the peanuts yourselves?". "We can't chew them because we've no teeth", she replied. The puzzled driver asks, "Why do you buy them then?"
The old lady replied, "We just love the chocolate around them."
