Chet brought up the accident that our Montana friend, Joy, had while traveling home to Montana last month, breaking her ankle.   Suggested again "passing the hat" as a gesture of goodwill, then enclosing with a thank you note to the Volunteer Fire Department in Wisdom, MT who transported her over an hour one way to the hospital.

CD Chatter - - - Garry Calman
Here it is August and up till this week the weather has been very good for riding except on tough 90 degree + days even on a water-cooled Gold Wing it was to hot!!!!!
I think everyone who attended the rally in Lynden had a good time, as there was a lot of food and friends. I know that Judy and I got to visit with some friends we had not seen for a long time. Then came the Montana District Rally in which Ron,Betty and Ray Hunter took part. I understand that they had a good trip.
On August 1, Chet and Kathy Renskers, Cliff Kamm, Ron Robertson, Larry Peters and myself participated in the Show and Shine that was held at the Haggen Meridian St. Store and was sponsored by Haggen. A $10 donation per bike went to the store managers charity, which is Hospice. There was also hot dogs with a drink for $1.00 by donation, which also went to Hospice. Chet and Kathy won a trophy for their bike and trailer although it said cruiser trophy. There will be a Touring Trophy next year if he knows that there will be participation from Touring groups.
On another subject Chapter H has come along ways in the last three years and it is my hope that it will continue to grow, there is a lot of Gold Wings out there along with a lot of other brands that can also belong to our association.
Something I would like to bring up is Family Membership in the association. Even though Individual membership is $45.00, a family membership is only $10.00 more to have the whole family involved with the association. You ask why should I sign up for a family membership? Well it is like this, when you go to a GWRRA runs and rally's it can cost you anywhere from $5.00 to $10.00 more to sign up as non GWRRA, especially when they ask to see your membership cards. Also with membership in GWRRA your family member might just be eligible to pick up a trophy like Randi Reid did at our District Rally for youngest female rider. It might be a trophy for long distance, oldest, or even make the difference whether the chapter would receive a largest chapter either by sheer number or percentage. Also they can call Rescue Towing and Emergency Roadside Assistance if they are a member. Family members are entitled to wear the official GWRRA patches and pins of the association and also take advantage of all the GWRRA member Benefits and Discount Programs. GWRRA is a family organization and we pride our self on that concept.  Garry Calman CD
