Well we did it. We made it into 2012. Hope you all had a great new years eve. I have been enjoying not having to do much in the way of newsletters and other business. Now it is time to buckle up and get rolling again down that GWRRA road of event preparations again. Chapter meeting agendas, newsletters, Reports for District, seminar topics for this year’s education work shop. I hope you are planning on attending this year’s education workshop. That will be held in Buckley Saturday February 11,2012.

So what can I say we did well last year. We had a few good rides we did some Parking Lot Practices we had our own Advanced Rider Course and a little charity work. Speaking of charity work. After the Christmas party which was a blast who would have thought Debbie had so many snowmen in our house. The ladies got together and went shopping for the family that was assigned the chapter through Newway Ministries in Lynden. Mrs. Betty was our contact with them and headed up the ladies for a successful shopping event. We raised $280.00 for them by passing the hat Saturday evening at the end of the Christmas Party. The ladies were able to purchase the list of items they were given. I think it worked out well for the family and we got to do something for someone. I can’t say enough about our chapter and how well we can pull together and help those in need. Keep up the good work. I have also attached a list of things that Newway Ministries shared with Mrs. Betty that they need on a regular bases. See the list at the bottom of this letter.

Chet will be doing a seminar on team riding this month at our stew gathering. Which will remind us of why we do some of the things we do when we ride together. And give us a prelude to the Road Captains course coming up in the spring. If you want to participate in the seminar, the exact time will be communicated at the January monthly meeting.

I hope everyone is getting their recall notices and can get them dealt with before the riding season. Don't let these things interrupt your fun this summer.

I’m under the impression that we will have District guest at our next meeting to swear in or newest Assistant Chapter Directors. Yes I got that right we now have two assistant directors that will be sworn in at our next chapter meeting. I’m excited about this and can’t wait to get them in office. I’m hoping they are primed and ready to get some new and interesting things for us to do this year. I hope you can all join us this next Chapter meeting for the swearing in of our new officers and see what new and exciting things await us in the coming year.

I’m really excited about this year and what we have to do as a chapter this year. We have some traditional rides coming this year as well as some outings that will need some planning to pull them together. I’m hoping we will all have a good year of riding and fellowship with our chapter for 2012. So let’s get out bikes in for these brake recalls and do a good pre riding season check. I will be doing my this next month.

NOTE: A new / updated Chapter WA-H Active membership list was sent out in November.  We have several changes: new member additions and some who are not with us anymore.  We must make sure to include those who are new to our Chapter.  And we must stop sending to those who have specifically asked to be taken off.

PLEASE - it is important that you update YOUR Chapter listings.  The membership list was sent out as an Email so most of you should be able to "double click" on the addresses and get them into your Address book.  If you need that list sent to you again, please contact Kathy Renskers (renskers@telcomplus.net).

Tech Note:  Here is the latest text I have found regarding the recall of almost every GL1800. It gives a pretty good description with graphical drawings of the problem. I know most of you are probably aware of it already, but maybe not everybody. See the attachment. It is in a PDF format and I hope you can all open it. If not, give me a call.
