CD Chatter - - - Chet Renskers So far we have managed to squeeze in a few rides after dodging rain. I have been assured by a good source that better weather is on its way. Even so, the chapter has been very busy. We had a good turnout for maintenance day. The Memorial Day ride was well attended, as were a few destination rides in May. We have the Farmers Day parade coming up real fast, with about 14 Canadian friends planning to attend. It should be a real blast. The Kellets will be hosting the get-together afterwards. On the other side, I have concluded that my radio on the 1800 is acting up. The volume is real low, and the intercom is not working right. So if you cannot hear me very well when on rides, it is on the to-fix list.
We will look for you at the parade on the 5th, or at the meeting on the 8th. Chet

Rider Educator - - - Randy Reid Hey
Everybody, Remember
last month we talked about contact with our bike that by making contact with our
knees on the gas tank we can increase our control by 20%. I hope you were able
to try that out last month and see for yourself the benefits of added control.
This month I would like to switch gears a little bit and talk to you about
practice. What is so great about practice? It keeps us proficient. Why do we
want to be proficient? So that we look cool? Or so we can perform a task safely
with the utmost confidence? My hope is that you want to be confident, proficient
and safe while looking cool riding your Wing. So what do you do? How can you practice with your Wing! Well how about at the next PLP (Parking Lot Practice). What is a Parking Lot Practice? It is a series of six exercises developed by The GWRRA Rider Education Program to sharpen your skills as a rider. I have reviewed the latest in the Motorcycle Parking Lot Practice Guide. There are 6 great range exercises to get the old juices flowing. This is not a Top Gun course. This is a really fun course that a rider at any level will enjoy and appreciate. So how do we practice? That is right with a parking lot practice (PLP). I hope that there are several of us interested enough that we can get out there and practice this June the 13th at the Ferndale High School. Terry Burke will be our Facilitator for this practice and he will be providing information on the time and conditions at the next chapter meeting. So don’t miss it. I’ll see you there.

Lady's Luncheons: It has been decided to meet the 4th Wednesdays (Note change from Tuesdays) and right now Hilltop Restaurant on the Guide Meridian seems to be a good central location. And is not too busy at Noon. Any
further comments or suggestions - please call Edith at 360 354-5774.
Note of concern: Please keep Wayne and Laura Gerner in your thoughts and prayers, he has experienced some complications from his surgery and will be unable to ride or join us for a longer period of time than originally planned.
