Anyone not able to attend the meeting please e-mail to let us know what you will be bringing and we can plan accordingly!! Hope to see you “here”!! Terry and Edie.

To start off - A big thank you to Jeff and Gen for hosting and Ron and Betty for offering their home for the fish social on Feb. 13th. Kathy and I were in Oregon celebrating my Mother's 80th birthday. Thus we missed out on a real good feed. Heard that there was plenty to go around, and all was delicious. The warm weather is almost here to stay, or so I heard the other day. We can't go east just yet as they got more snow, but soon. Getting your ride ready is part of the fun, what with all the "safety chrome" and "required" lights needing to be installed. The Rider Ed Workshop in Buckley on Feb. 20th was well represented by our Chapter with 14 members attending. There were several new sessions this year with lots of information being shared. An item that needs to be addressed is future replacement officers within the chapter. This is for chapter director and the assistant director. A new requirement involves a short training session held in the near future. Anyone interested please contact me and we can discuss it farther. I will talk more about this during the meeting. Also, we have been invited to a bike show down south put on by Full Tilt Riders of Tacoma area on March 20th - weather permitting. (We'll be back in time for the Social at the Burke's.) Our son Clint belongs to this group and has ridden with us a few times. More info at the meeting. Hope to see you at the breakfast on Saturday and the meeting on Tuesday, the 9th. Motorcycle Awareness: Ron Robertson This is a rewrite from a article I wrote as C/D back in the ninety's some time A Case for Chrome For those of you that have doubts about the SAFETY VALUE of chrome consider this. Your are waiting to pull out into traffic to, something catches your eye, a flash of light, it appears again you wait to see what it is, then it goes by. It's one of them Gold Wing with sun reflecting of the all the CHROME. Think about it you might have pull out if it hadn't been for those flashes of light reflecting off that life saving chrome. Remember the old cowboy movies when you were a kid (for some of us that was a long time ago) remember how the good guys could always spot the bad guys ambush, when they would see the sun light reflecting off the bad guys gun barrels. And how about our Military, you don't see the troops in Iraq tramping around over there with Chrome helmets and belts buckles, and there gun barrels all shined up do you. NO !! and why not, because lots of chrome makes it easier to be seen and they DON'T WANT TO BE SEEN. In this case chrome is bad. But on a Gold Wing, Chrome is a life saver. I rest my case. Ride safe and be seen. Ron
Web Master - Jeff Kelton Hi
All, - - - I found another message board that I think I will like
better. It works more like some other message boards that we are used to.
There is an ad at the top of the page that we might have to put up with, but if
we decide it's too bothersome,we can pay 7.00 a month to get rid of it. Please
let me know what you think, and if you have any problems.

FYI - Cranking a GL1800 without starting it. If you think you have flooded your fuel injected 1800 and want to crank it to clear it without making it worse, just hold the throttle wide open while you crank it. The ECM will think it is flooded and turn off the fuel injectors. Just don't let off the throttle while doing it or it will start at a pretty high RPM. This is useful anytime you need to crank the engine without having it start.
Ride Coordinator - Dave VanKirk Here
is what we have put together at this time and more will be added. In addition
to our calendar of events already in place, these are weekends and trips to
use trailers, tents, motels and bed & breakfasts. Or just a tarp on the
ground as is my wife's favorite sleep out.(With grandkids, a flash light
and a .44mag.... I was given the flash light.)
