CD Chatter - - -  Randy Reid

I'm feeling the direction now that we have our 2012 calendar planning behind us.

This coming 2012 looks to be an exciting year. There is something going on every month from socials to rider education to rides and campouts. So what is next? I was reflecting back on some chapter photos the other day and came across a photo of our chapter's 25 anniversary.  From Back in November 2007. Hmm That would make this year our 29th. Wow we have been around for 29 years that mean that next year 2012 we will be 30. 30 is another milestone. So that would be the perfect time to celebrate our Chapter's longevity.

Maybe we could have a party during one of our campouts. Or just have a special party in October or November to celebrate.

Now back to the calendar we still have some planning to do. We set dates for some rides after our normal breakfast meetings. It would be a good plan to have some destinations in mind for those rides so lets make a list of what we know so we can plan ahead. I know all of the old faithful rides but are there any others out there that you have been on? If so let's get them on a list.

For the seminars the Road Captain Class sounds great. And we can work others in as we go along. I was thinking that at our social gatherings we can cover some of these smaller seminars that doesn't require much time. That way we can always prove that we have covered our main purposes Fun, Safety & Knowledge. I will work on getting these together for us and any of you seminar presenters out there here is your chance to help maintain your status and increase your experience in public speaking.

Now about charity. I know we all have some charity that we have interest in. I was thinking that since we have several of our members that have been in the military or have loved ones that serve we could choose one that would allow us to ride in support of their needs and possibly do a annual fund raiser for their cause. There is a couple out there so be thinking of which one we can get behind and help I would like to be able to discuss this during our January meeting so that we can start planning the what, where, when and how to be prepared for the next year. That way we can have a year to plan the coming event. Possibly even putting it on the District Calendar. I know I know I can hear it now all this sounds like a lot of work and yes you are right it is. But with the proper motivation and willingness of us all to do a little a great thing can be accomplished. Benefiting both the charity we choose and our Chapter. Until next month keep the shiny side up. Randy
