To share some of our beautiful Sunday on San Juan Island.

We had a most amazing day - six Wings:

Paul & Cathy

Karry & Karen

Ron & Betty

Garry & Judy

Cliff & Pam

Chet & Kathy

We started in the Fog on the Ferry from Anacortes, but ended up shortly with a glorious day.  We each took picnic lunches and enjoyed a wonderful time in the shade at "British Camp".  Thank you Paul and Cathy, for finding this most gracious location.

One of the high points - On the Friday dinner ride Jeannine Lyon had told about knowing an instructor who spent his summers at Lime Kiln Point Light House in the Whale research Lab.

We found him - Bob Ottis.  Told him we knew Jeannine and Lonnie - and he was thrilled to find out you both are doing good and still in Bellingham, etc.  He asked about your family, and sure was pleased to talk to us.  I was almost back to the Wings then kicked myself that I didn't take his picture for you.  (He is there for the summer - might consider a trip to the island with your family to see him.  Very nice man.)

Here are pictures of the "Light house".  The whales were about an hour away from that observation point when we were there - note the "sighting schedule" in front of the light house.  We didn't wait, but others were starting to "collect" to be in position to see them.

We had a most memorable day - the views were totally beyond compare.  Wish I'd taken more pictures:  The other Islands, Mt. Baker, the Sound waters, boats, Ferries, yachts, etc.  Friday Harbor itself was busy with tourists.

The first picture is a Mystery picture from "Island County".  (Jeannine might recognize it. )

Everywhere we stopped and looked, it was amazing - the country, the views, lots of history on the island - had no idea.

Have a grand week.

Love, Kathy
