Greetings from Louisiana and points North, South,
little bit East and back West again. Fall is coming to the mountains of
Utah.
We had a wonderful trip. Edith takes more
pictures (over 700) than I do (267). We all felt God's hand on our
shoulders at times during the 7,000+ miles we traveled. Thanks to Randy
for his prayers we were safe and with way more "ups" and no
"downs". We felt blessed beyond words, specially when
Chet found our rear tire shredding in Arkansas. Big trucks going 70
miles an hour on the freeway all around us, and that tire kept
together till we got off the road and found the problem. Edith has
pictures of our Wing on the tow truck - she also took pictures of the
tire. The tow driver said this is was the second Gold Wing he'd ever
hauled in the many years he had the company - many Harleys but just two
Gold Wings - both with tire problems.
We didn't camp as much as we'd planned due to
weather and time. BUT - the camp grounds we found were wonderful.
The Black Hills in South Dakota have beautiful camp grounds, and we sure plan
on going back to see and do more. Branson, MO is another place with
beautiful State parks - we will be back! We did the Branson
Belle Showboat tour the afternoon we were in the area.
Louisiana, we stayed at Randy's Brother's place -
as there was a lot of wind damage, and weather didn't suit being out too much
(plus the "Love bugs" were out in full season - if you don't know
what a Love Bug is - just ask.) BUT we got to New Orleans and
totally enjoyed our time there. That's a very intriguing city.
Randy and Debbie Reid along with their family,
were most gracious hosts in their home state, and we enjoyed ourselves very
much. To the Reid's - a huge thank you. Can't
begin to express our gratitude to you both.
We are glad to be back safe and sound - and now to
enjoy Fall and hopefully some more riding weather in our "own back
yard". Take care, Love, Kathy

We have a "herding Buffalo" story now -
sure glad we weren't the ones with a BLACK Gold Wing on the road.
!!!!!!!!!
Ya - Louisiana has these for real!
French Quarter of New Orleans. Spent an
afternoon enjoying the sights and sounds.
My camera doesn't do any of the Grand Canyon
justice - it was absolutely breath taking in beauty. Again, we'll be
back to enjoy and participate more in the area.
Can't begin to describe all the things we did and
saw - what experiences to "do and see". So many pictures
in between these few.
Love, Kathy
