Gates Pass is just outside of Tucson, near the
Tucson Mountain Park. Switchbacks and great views for a few miles.
This was January with temps in the 70's.
This two-day ride was Marana to Bisbee to
Douglas, north to Wilcox via the Chiricahua's to Safford to Globe to
Florence (where the prisons are so big they have a Prison Outlet Mall for
goods they make). Great ride.
Parker Dam last week. We have ridden the
Goldwing 2700 miles in Arizona in 6 weeks.
Today (Valentines Day) we rode to Oatman on
old Route 66. Several westerns were shot there. Interesting
ride for sure. It got better going east toward Kingman on a
winding barely paved road with impressive vistas.
Unfortunately there were no good places to pull over for a shot until we
reached this old store.
Another shot between Oatman and Kingman.
The latter seems like an interesting place. Will go back to
browse. Also will take the old 66 from Kingman to Seligman soon.
